His expertise also extends to Zakat and Islamic philanthropic studies. Having served as an Imam in various UK Muslim communities\, he is deeply committed to community and people development. DESCRIPTION:THIS IS AN EMERGENCY APPEAL\, YOUR SUPPORT NEEDED URGENTLY TO SAVE LIVES!\nTurkey-Syria earthquake: ‘Worst in a century’ –  Described by the World Health Organisation (WHO) \nOn Monday 6th February two earthquakes of 7.8 and 7.5 magnitudes hit South East Türkiye (Turkey) and North West Syria\, more than 35\,000 people have been confirmed dead and the numbers are rising by the hour. Furthermore\, there are hundreds of thousands of people displaced and are now having to sleep out in the open\, often in sub-zero temperatures. \nSince the appeal started last Friday\, Alhamdulillah from the online platform\, Jummah and weekend academy cakes sales the total raised to date is £5470.01. Essex Jamme Masjid’s committee members have decided to personally travel to Turkey at their own expense and distribute the money to where it’s needed most. The online donation will be extended another week and a further collection during Jummah. \nWe\, therefore ask you to donate generously in order to help civilians and people in distress who are struggling. The survivors may have survived the earthquake but the people are in need of so much more help during the aftermath. Everything is destroyed\, people have lost their homes and they need our help. Please donate as much as you can\, even if its little. DESCRIPTION:24 HR BOYS MASJID RETREAT & SLEEPOVER\nAGES: 15 – 19\nAlhamdulillah by the grace of Allah we are delighted to announce that as part of the youth initiative here at EJM\, we will be hosting a 24-hour retreat in the Masjid for 15-19 year olds. \nThis program will be led and supervised by our team of scholars and volunteers here at EJM. It will primarily focus on building the spirituality aspect within the minds of youngsters as well as learning more about the religion along with a few fun activities and challenges. It is an opportunity to share experiences and knowledge with one another and grow as an Ummah; it builds a bond of brotherhood and unites Muslims irrespective of where they are from or what they do. \nFood will be provided by the Masjid but a small donation of £5 is requested for all participants. \nActivities: \nIndoor activities\, pool\, table tennis\, football \nQuizzes\, group activities \nVisit East Beach and watch the sunrise as a group.\nSomething as beautiful as the sunrise will keep you in the present moment\, giving you a chance to be grateful for Allah’s creation and beauty.
