Aims of Essex Jamme Masjid Academy:

Essex Jamme Masjid (EJM) Academy is dedicated to educating and inspiring the next generation of young Muslims to live in accordance with their faith and serve as exceptional ambassadors for their community. The academy’s curriculum is designed to help students develop into confident, successful, and inspirational Muslims, In Sha Allah. EJM Academy welcomes students between the ages of 4 and 25, both male and female. The academy provides students with a solid foundation in Islamic knowledge and understanding, enabling them to make informed decisions and lead an Islamic way of life that they can pass on to future generations. Over 300 children regularly attend classes at our academy, where they are taught by a team of 23 trained and fully DBS-checked teachers who possess a strong understanding of children’s safeguarding.

The educational approach at EJM Academy is guided by its five core values, represented by the acronym TALIB, which means “student” in Arabic. These values are at the heart of everything the academy does, and they help to shape the character and development of its students.

Our Weekend Madrasah provides a vibrant environment for children aged 4 and above to engage in Islamic learning and spiritual growth.

Programme Highlights:

Age-Appropriate Curriculum: Tailored to different age groups, covering Arabic, Quranic recitation, Islamic history, and moral teachings.

Qualified Instructors: Experienced and passionate educators dedicated to creating a supportive learning atmosphere.

Interactive Learning: Engaging teaching methods including storytelling, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, and group discussions.

Comprehensive Islamic Studies: Instruction in Fiqh, Tajweed, Hadeeth, History, Aqeedah, Seerah, Etiquettes, Morals, and Sunnah Duas.

Quranic Studies: Focus on reading and reciting the Quran with proper Tajweed, understanding meanings, and applying teachings.

Islamic Values and Etiquette: Instilling core Islamic values like kindness, honesty, respect, and compassion.

Gateway to Hifdh

The Gateway to Hifdh programme is tailored for students who are not yet able to read the Qur’an but aspire to learn quickly and efficiently. This intensive programme is designed to accelerate learning compared to our Weekend Madrasah, providing a faster track for students to develop the essential skills needed for Qur’anic reading and comprehension. The Gateway to Hifdh programme is the perfect starting point for young learners eager to embark on their Qur’anic journey, setting them on the path to successful memorization and a strong Islamic foundation.

Hifdh Programme

The Hifdh Programme at EJM is designed for dedicated students aiming to memorize the entire Qur’an while continuing their regular school studies. Our structured approach targets completion within six years, ensuring a balanced integration of academic and spiritual education. We give importance to flexible scheduling wich accommodates school schedules with morning, evening, and weekend classes, allowing students to balance Hifdh and academics. Our comprehensive includes instruction in Fiqh, Tajweed, Hadeeth, Aqedah, Seerah, Etiquettes, Morals, and Sunnah Duas, ensuring a well-rounded Islamic education.

Experienced instructors provide personalized guidance and support throughout the Hifdh journey as well as making frequent assessments to progress.,

Ideal Candidate

At EJM, we expect our students to be highly engaged in their learning, actively analysing and synthesizing the content. This ensures the quality of our program and the success of our graduates. We only accept students who are committed to their educational goals and genuinely want to learn. Applicants must be able to at least read the Quran. This requirement ensures that all students are prepared for the course’s demands.

Timings: Mon – Fri 5pm-7:30pm and Saturdays 9:45am-1:30pm (After Zuhr Salah)

Alimiyyah Course

The ‘Ālimiyyah Course offered by EJM is a well-structured programme designed for students dedicated to pursuing the Islamic Sciences alongside their national curriculum school studies. Our programme is developed according to the ‘Darse Nizami’ syllabus, a traditional curriculum used in many Islamic seminaries to provide comprehensive religious education.

The ‘Ālimiyyah Course covers a wide range of Islamic disciplines, including but not limited to:

Qur’anic Studies: In-depth study of the Qur’an, including its recitation (Tajweed), memorization (Hifz), and exegesis (Tafsir).

Hadith Studies: Examination of the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), focusing on major Hadith collections and their interpretations.

Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence): Detailed study of Islamic law and its application, covering various schools of thought.

Aqidah (Islamic Theology): Understanding the core beliefs and doctrines of Islam.

Arabic Language: Learning of the Arabic language to ensure students can understand and interpret primary Islamic texts.

Islamic History: Exploration of the history of Islam and the Muslim world. This programme aims to balance rigorous academic study with the spiritual and moral development of students, preparing them to become knowledgeable and devout Muslims ready to lead Muslim community.
