Prayer Services
The Essex Jamme Masjid is open for all of the five daily prayers and the special prayers for Ramadan and Eid.. During the daytime the main prayer hall can be used for reading the Qur‘an and quiet contemplation.
Facilities
There are separate prayer facilities for men and women: men pray in the ground floor hall, and women in the 1st floor hall. It can accommodate over 400 people, including space dedicated just for women. During busy times, such as Friday prayer, Eid prayer and the Tarawih prayers in Ramadan, an additional 200 people can be accommodated in upper floor, with audio coming directly from the mosque, and video in the halls.
Adhan
The Adhan, which is the call to prayer, is broadcast live for each prayer in the internal speakers, plus analogue radio. You can tune your scanner radio to frequency 454.762 to listen live adhan from the masjid. All our congregational prayers, including the Friday sermons, and additional talks from the main prayer hall, are available through this frequency.
