8 Things to Strengthen the Husband-Wife Relationship in Islam

Surah Noor Ayat 26, “Vile women are for vile men, and vile men for vile women. Good women are for good men, and good men for good women; such are innocent of that which people say: For them is pardon and a bountiful provision.”

  1. Say Alhamdulillah: Praise the positive and forget the shortcomings of each other, this is the simplest technique to run this relationship successfully.
  2. Help: Follow the Sunnah of Muhammad by helping each other. If a husband helps his wife in the house affairs, it will strengthen their relationship.
  3. Be there at the time of need: “Your wives are clothing for you and you are clothing for your wives “. Spare some time from your routine life and listen to each other problems and needs.
  4. Trust each other: In Sahi Muslim, Prophet said, “ the most wicked among you on the day of judgment will be one who will share his wife secrets with others”
  5. Make effort: Try to please each other by giving some gift to your wife, a good dress or scent will help to please your husband.
  6. Love and respect each other: Shayatan always tries to create confusion and misunderstanding among husband and wife, it is the happiest moment for Shayatan when he accomplishes that. Love and respect are the tools that connect the two souls with each other.
  7. Share your feelings: Be constructive in your approach rather than destructive, not only express displeasure but also speak when you felt good for each other!
  8. Pray for each other: When you going through hard times of your marriage, pray for each other, pray to God to protect you from Shayatan.

Importance of Lailatul Qadr (The Night of Decree, The Night of Power)

Lailat-ul-Qadr which is also known as “Shab-e-Qadar” is the night when the Quran was revealed on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by Allah (SWT).  The Quran also marks signature on this event and says,”This one single night when the Quran was revealed and angels descent to earth, is better than thousands of months.” Muslims spend their time while praying and thanking Allah for this blessing. Mosques and even at home, Muslims pray or recite the Quran for whole night. Muslims ask God for forgiveness, as Sahi Bukhari says:

On the night of Qadr, if you ask for forgiveness with sincere faith and hoping to attain Allah’s blessing, then Allah will forgive all your sins”   [Hadith, Bukhari Vol 1, Book 2:34]

There is no evidence in the Quran or from other Fiqa books, on which day in Ramadan “Shab-e-Qadar” took place. But, traditional date is 27th of Ramadan and some suggested “Night of power” was revealed in the last 10 days of Ramadan. Muslims celebrate this time and believe that Allah answers all their prayers.

Thanking the Graces of Allah

“Therefore remember Me (by praying, glorifying). I will remember you and be grateful to Me (for My countless favors on you) and never be ungrateful to Me” [2:152]

What do you need to know about Shukr?

  • Allah’s blessings are countless! We have to be thankful for every single blessing that we possess in the shape of wealth, health and intellectual abilities.
  • Stop Shayatan: It is the most pleasing moment for a Shayatan when he makes a human being ungrateful to Allah. His primary mission is accomplished when he is able to put doubts in a human mind about the thankfulness of Allah. As in Surah Al-Araf, it is mentioned that when the Shayatan refused to bow to Adam, he said, “I will come to them from before and from behind them, from the right side and from the left side and Allah will not find them grateful”.
  • Disbelieving: When you are disbelieving the gratitude of Allah you will be doing Kufur. Kufur is the term that is opposite to Shukr. A believer of Allah is always grateful to him even in the toughest stage of life. Opposite to that a kafiror disbelieves the blessings of Allah even he has to face some minor issues.
