Turkey Syria Earthquake Appeal

Turkey-Syria earthquake: ‘Worst in a century’ – Described by the World Health Organisation (WHO)
On Monday 6th February two earthquakes of 7.8 and 7.5 magnitudes hit South East Türkiye (Turkey) and North West Syria, more than 35,000 people have been confirmed dead and the numbers are rising by the hour. Furthermore, there are hundreds of thousands of people displaced and are now having to sleep out in the open, often in sub-zero temperatures.
Since the appeal started last Friday, Alhamdulillah from the online platform, Jummah and weekend academy cakes sales the total raised to date is £5470.01. Essex Jamme Masjid’s committee members have decided to personally travel to Turkey at their own expense and distribute the money to where it’s needed most. The online donation will be extended another week and a further collection during Jummah.
We, therefore ask you to donate generously in order to help civilians and people in distress who are struggling. The survivors may have survived the earthquake but the people are in need of so much more help during the aftermath. Everything is destroyed, people have lost their homes and they need our help. Please donate as much as you can, even if its little. A little from our wealth will amount to a lot for our brothers and sisters in this time.
